aorta

The aorta penetrates the diaphragm at the level of the 12th thoracic vertebra. Flayra and Poland sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. The megalist has fallen in to disrepair in my absence. There are cobwebs everywhere. Vaccuum cleaner:

  • Possibly another trailer in the works from the Kharaa perspective?
  • People will probably be able to run their own servers at some point in the beta.
  • “You should be able to buy NS2 from Unknown Worlds or from Valve over Steam. What we don’t know currently is if you PRE-ORDER, whether you will be able to “convert” that into a Steam version of the game later, so it was just like you waited until it was released on Steam and bought it there. Valve has done this for other games with independent pre-order programs, but has not told us whether they will do it for us or not.” Readyroom.org
  • Vet/Constellation icons from NS will probably not show up in NS2.
  • Ideally suited to 6 vs 6 players or more.
  • Only gamemode planned so far is classic mode.
  • Left4Dead style rifle alt-fire melee knockback.
  • Female marine may not make it in to the initial release.
  • Aliens can not climb ladders. No word yet on why the marines do not construct their base on an elevated platform encased in ladders.
  • Gorge may get an ability that allows him to absorb damage from energy rather than health while crouching.
  • Onos may get a stomp ability to disrupt marine structures: “Commanders would have their screen shake and go black for a second, resource towers would stall, infantry portals would stop spinning (part of their new design), etc.”
  • Via readyroom.org:
    • Shader model 2.0
    • Possibly frameless windowed mode
    • “great physics” but no destructible environments
    • The engine will probably be licensable
    • Surround sound support through FMOD
    • No release date for the tools, but it is part of their next internal development milestone.
  • The teaser was created with the cinematic editor. With the cinematic editor you “can import maps, place lights and models, setup the camera, play animations and keyframe all the movement very quickly. When you’re done, you can export the movie out to Quicktime and then add your sound track.”
  • Bounce lighting and ambient occlusion possibly being added.
  • Flayra is confident about the netcode working well.
