NS2 Toolset Now On Steam

Protip guys, you can now activate your NS2 key on Steam! Helpful instructions below if you don’t know how to work computar:

1. Install Steam from: http://store.steampowered.com/about

2. Run Steam, then go to Games -> “Activate a Product on Steam…”

3. Enter your NS2 Product Code!

Make sure to join the AusNS2 steam group once you’ve done so. It will net you so much internet credibility you’ll be beating off the ladies with a stick.

Engine Test Released!

Available to everyone who preordered, the engine test is a stripped down version of NS2 with no gameplay features besides running around as a marine and shooting at nothing! There is basic console functionality and even the ability to connect to other players, however. It also allows you to test the maps you’ve made out and see how they’d appear in game.

It’s very rough around the edges but it’s our first real taste of NS2!

Is it already that time again? It’s like a mole of Christmas presents!

Obviously the big news of the past few weeks has been the pre-alpha footage, which we’ve covered in extreme depth with the journalistic vigour only the most shallow of websites could muster. Why do you come here?

There were also a few juicy tidbits in the two recent Spark engine Q&As posted on the NS2 dev blog. We’ve filtered the pulp and partially digested the remaining nutrients for you after the jump.
