The aorta penetrates the diaphragm at the level of the 12th thoracic vertebra. Flayra and Poland sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. The megalist has fallen in to disrepair in my absence. There are cobwebs everywhere. Vaccuum cleaner:
All around cool dude and awesome guy Valk has whipped up an NS server for us to utilise for all things natural and selected. What does this mean? Currently, the server is running 24 slots, so what we need, is to fill ‘er up to see just how much she can handle. This Sunday (21/6), we ask you all to come join us for some old fashioned NS on the brand new server and generate some feedback on the performance.
Currently, unfortunately, the server is located in Western Australia, this may be subject to change in the future, but there is no definitive answer so nothing can be promised. So be sure to come check out the server this Sunday and have some fun.
Server Name: AusNS2.com Trial Server

We went in there with three websites: Rockpapershotgun.com, Readyroom.com.br and Readyroom.org, that’s not a grand coalition. We can do better.
Well actually, we forgot Poland. Flayra has been feverishly churning out interviews, this time giving some exclusive information to natural-selection.pl, the polish natural selection community, check it out.
There are many gameplay changes from NS1, although of course we want it to feel like the Natural Selection universe. We’re toying with a Gorge ability that lets him protect himself by crouching down and crawling. When he’s doing this, his damage would be taken off his energy instead of health. We also like the idea of the Onos being able to stomp the ground to temporarily disrupt marine structures – Commanders would have their screen shake and go black for a second, resource towers would stall, infantry portals would stop spinning (part of their new design), etc. We’ve also added alt-fire for every marine weapon. The alt-fire for the assault rifle (LMG) is a rifle-butt that can be used to knock aliens back, L4D-style. The trick is to improve every aspect of NS1, while still retaining the “feel” of NS1.
Thanks to Miffu for the heads up.
In true Carnaval fashion, Readyroom.com.br have managed to tie Flayra down for a quick interview to celebrate the launch of their revamped NS2 fan site. Touching on some of the features in NS2, and commenting on the massive success of NS1, it is an interesting read. As always, Flayra is ever teasing with bright colours and ruffled feathers that cover all the juicy bits, but still keeping your undivided attention.
One of the goals for NS2 is to make it easier to learn but with deeper gameplay. One way we’re doing this is to make sure that every weapon and alien ability must be intuitive to use without checking a manual or asking another player. This restricts us of course but also means that more players will stick around to learn the game instead of trying it and quitting. We want this in the games we play and Natural Selection should be no different!
Another big goal for us is to have as much dynamic gameplay as possible. This relates to the power grid, but also our dynamic infestation, weldable doors and Oni breaking down doors. There is a lot of work involved in this, but we think that as a small team especially, this is the right way for us to give you as much depth as possible without just adding a whole bunch of levels or kinds of armor or just content. We want infinite replay value so every game is truly different.
You can check out the fully translated interview on the Readyroom Brazil Forums, or for something different, you can check out the Portuguese version as well.

With the excitement over the very real possibility of NS2 game play soon, the NSP-V has been going along steady with all round 1 matches now completed. With 8 teams signed up, what the clan scene lacked in quantity, it has made up for in quality with the front runners for the NSP-V title quickly emerging.
Firstly, powerhouse boost overcame underdogs R18-B 2 – 0 in quick succession, R18-B still optimistic moving to the losers bracket. They will face T party, who looked promising in their match against misfitz winning the first aliens round, and managing to hold off the misfitz onslaught as marines to play a 3rd round. But misfitz rallied and overcame their antioxidant rich foes to advance to round 2 in the winners column.
Team Canada(cloth) and R18 both advanced in similar fashion, defeating Butterscotch Yellows and Starship Troopers 2 – 0 respectively. Misfitz now face the Boost Juggernaut, Tablecloth will stand against R18 in is what expected to be an action packed matchup to round out the winners bracket. Finally SST will take on Butterscotch to stay alive in the tournament.
Round 2 (ns_eclipse) kicks off tonight with Boost vs. Misfitz, then tomorrow with SST vs. Butterscotch, tuesday sees R18-B vs. T-Party and finally Tablecloth vs. R18 to be announced.
As always, be sure to show your love for your favourite team with NSP-Bet and lay it all on the line (hot tip; t-party). Check out the full bracket here on the NSPlayer website.
