ausns-community-announcement

Xzi and crew have thrown together a new PUG server for all you semi-professional pro-gamer hipster-types out there. Their server is up and running along with a new(refurbished) Pugbot in #ns.pug on GameSurge. Check out our run-down on IRC if you haven’t already connected up to the network. There’s also an announcement bot running in our own #AusNS channel for everyone would rather join the games when they start rather than idling in yet another channel.

They’re no doubt looking to run some practice games tonight, so be sure to hop onto this bandwagon as early as possible!

Any questions or comments? Join the channel and bug Xzi, he’s the lucky guy to annoy in this mess!

AusNS Top Ten 5: Best NS Sounds
by Mr Charisma Monday, 11th May, 2009 at 5:53 pm under News [43 comments]

Welcome yet again to another AusNS Top Ten. Taking a step back from another who is the best poll, this week we are looking for your favourite NS sound.

Sounds and music are some of the things that made NS so great, from the eerie musical score, to the annoying ambiance that stopped you from hearing that pesky skulk above you, to that sweet sound of a whole buckshot making contact with a fade. Sounds provide us feedback, set the mood and sometimes display a little humour. So the question is, what was your favourite sound in NS?

Now, we dance.

NSPlayer Announces NSP-Veterans Tournament
by Mr Charisma Friday, 8th May, 2009 at 2:18 pm under News [9 comments]

The folks at the hibernating NSPlayer have recently emerged from their slumber and are back into the swing of all things competitive. With the recent flux of NS1 activity in anticipation of NS2, there isn’t a better time to mix things up with some hot blooded 6v6 action. NSPlayer have stepped up to the plate and have announced NSPlayer-Veterans, a double elimination no holds barred slobber knocker aimed at all the dedicated NSPlayers from past and present. So plug in your mouse, roll up your sleeves, turn up your gamma and get your teams ready.

Some quick information about the tournament:

  • It will be double elimination format (which means you get twice the fun of being pistol whipped by reptile!)
  • To register your team you must first create your clan on the NSPlayer Roster page (members must have a forum account and supply steam_id’s)
  • After creating your team, lock your squad in for the tournament at the events page
  • Sign ups must be entered by the 15th of May so get in early.
  • Interested in playing but not in a team yet? Check out our Looking For Clan thread
  • Relearn how to shot web

If you have any further questions or queries, hit up one of their helpful admins on their forums or irc (#NSPlayer on irc.gamesurge.net)

See you in the servers!
