Well, the time is finally upon us. The Natural Selection 2 Alpha is now available to all Special Edition pre-orders. As of now the Special Edition is no longer for sale and the Standard Edition has increased to $34.95.

To start playing the alpha you need to redeem a second Special Edition key which you should be emailed, or you can retrieve manually here. If you want to run your of NS2 alpha server, dedicated server files can be downloaded here. Naturally, this is a very raw look at the game, and as such Flayra has posted plenty of warnings on what players should expect. Needless to say the game can only get better, so see you in the servers.

Haven’t pre-ordered NS2 yet? Well what the hell are you waiting for. The Special Edition granting Alpha access and the bad ass limited edition marine armour ends on Monday. The Aussie Dollar is currently pushing 90 cents to the US Dollar, so what do you have to lose. Click here to order now… now!

With the announcement of the NS2 Alpha, Flayra has already started the PR campaign with a live podcast on the BashandSlash.com show Crosshairs. Flayra discusses his work on NS1, his roots and the eventual development of NS2/Spark. It’s a great insight into the development of NS2 and the team at UWE. The interview clocks into just over 50 minutes, but what else have you got to do?
